There are 5 main sports that I do throughout the year and these are incorporated into my holidays.
Via Ferrata / Klettersteige
Via ferrata is Italian and means “Iron Road”.
Esentially, it is an iron rope that is attached to the rock and is a combination of bouldering, hiking and vertical climbing. Some of the best parts are crossing a rope bridge with nothing below you š
Bouldering
This is climbing with lots of mats and without ropes, but not as high as for example, sport climbing.
Ski Touring
Ski touring is hiking up a mountain with skins on the bottom of our skis and moveable bindings.
Occasionally when it is icy, steep terrain or not enough snow, it can turn into Ski Mountaineering.
Hiking
I started this in the UK, then progressed to doing Kilimanjaro
and being in the Austrian and Bavarian Alps every weekend.
Cycling and Mountain Biking
I do a bit of technical mountain biking (Red/Difficult) on my 29’er and cycle to and from work in Munich on my commuter.
